The concept of a lubricant additive is the addition of one or more compounds to a lubricant in order to give the lubricant some new properties or improve some existing properties of the lubricant.
Additives are mainly divided into antioxidant, antiwear agent, friction improvement agent (also known as oil agent), extreme pressure additive, detergent, dispersant, foam inhibitor, anti-corrosion and anti-rust agent, flow point improvement agent, viscosity index enhancement agent and other types.
The additives sold in the market are generally the compound of the above single additives, the difference is that the composition of a single additive is different and the proportion of several single additives in the compound additive is different.
